Self Preservation of the Healer delves into the complexity of what it means to be a nurse in a healing profession and gain a new perspective on our role of preserving the healer. We explore the daily expectations of the nurse, the demands of the healthcare industry, and how over extending ourselves can negatively affect our overall well-being, resulting in burnout. We will discuss and practice strategies to navigate, empower, and preserve our spiritual, emotional and physical well-being, translating wisdom into caring for our patients, families, and peers.
Topics of discussion include but not limited to:
● Who Should Attend: This is a non denominational spiritual retreat tailored for nurses (students to retired, nursing assistant to doctorate prepared)
● Relax and Recharge: Engage in activities that promote rest, renewal, and healing
● Connect with Peers: Shared experiences with fellow nurses in a supportive and nurturing environment
● Reflect and Grow: Participate in guided sessions that encourage prayer, and personal reflection

In 2019, this retreat was placed in my heart with the sole purpose of bringing nurses closer to God. I was in the early stages of planning when the pandemic hit and delays were inevitable. Nursing as we knew it would never be the same.
This retreat is a day of healing and restoration so we may return to the work we do as healers.
